چکیده:

In this paper, axisymmetric bending analysis of a first order shear deformable, two directional functionally graded annular plate is carried out. inhomogeneous material properties of the annular plate are assumed to vary in the radial and through the thickness directions obeying an exponential law. Governing equations of an annular plate with material properties graded through the thickness direction are directly derived based on the first order shear deformation theory and solved analytically. The annular plate is divided into number of annular plates with their material properties defined by substituting the radial coordinates of their mid points into the grading law corresponding to the radial direction. The results obtained are compared with the finite element calculations and the results from the classical plate theory. The finite element calculations are found to be in very good agreement with the results of the first order shear deformation plate theory.
